Are all of your technicians fully certified and what kind of products do you use?
At Barbarella, you can guarantee that you will receive not only top-quality services from our fully licensed and trained technicians, but that we use only the best and safest products in the beauty industry. We believe that whenever it’s possible, choosing organic and vegan certified products that protect our planet and our health is the most important. Some of the products that we use that we are most proud of include: L’Oreal Pureology, Amika, Akzentz, Sugar Lash Pro, Aviva Labs, Vita Liberata, BKIND, Merben, HADAKA, and Dermalogica (just to name a few!).
What do I need to do to prepare for a spray tan and is it safe?
An organic Barbarella spray tan is the safest alternative to traditional UV tanning. Our goal is to save your skin and maintain your healthiest and best youthful glow. Our spray tan solution is organic, hypoallergenic, alcohol and oil free, vegan certified and is technically even safe to drink (although we don’t recommend it!) Our trained technicians are experts at colour matching your specific skin tone to receive the most natural and beautiful result. How do I book an appointment and what if I am unsure about booking a service and if it is right for me?
We offer 24-hour online booking and we are open 7 days a week. We know it can be overwhelming and intimidating to try something new, or make a big beauty decision (Going blonder, booking your wedding spray tan, or waxing for the first time to name a few!) If you aren’t sure about a service and if it’s right for you - call us and chat! Our beauty experts are here to guide you. We also offer free consultations for most of our services, including hair services, hair extensions, spray tanning and more.
Why do I need to enter my credit card information to book an appointment online?
Our booking system temporarily holds your credit card number in order to guarantee your appointment in our schedule and holds you accountable to our 24-hour cancellation policy. Please be kind and let us know if you need to modify or cancel your appointment. Being more than 15 minutes late means we will need to modify your service or reschedule you. Emergencies, traffic and mistakes happen. We get it. Just give us a call and a heads up. (We promise we won’t bite!)
What is the difference between shellac and gel polish? Do you offer acrylic/resin/dip-powder nail services?
Our nail department is one of our proudest accomplishments. We only offer 100% gel nail services that are fume and five chemical-free (that’s why our salon does not smell like a typical nail salon!) Shellac products are a gel nail system that boast a strong brand name (just like we use the term ‘Kleenex’ to refer to tissue paper). However, shellac is only 50% pure gel and contains many chemicals - this is why it often has a thick and rubbery appearance to it and may cause damage to your nails. Our gel polish is 100% pure gel and is a safer and gentler option for the natural nail. We do not offer acrylic services at Barbarella. Instead, we hand-sculpt extensions on to the natural nail using 100% hard gel, which gives the most natural appearance of length and uses no harsh chemicals and adhesives. No tips, no dips, and no clips over here!
Can I purchase a Barbarella gift card?
Of course. Right now, you can purchase a Barbarella gift card by calling, emailing or coming to the salon in person. Our gift cards can be used for any service and can be any value. The gift of self-care is the gift that keeps on giving! Gift cards will be available online shortly so be sure to keep checking our site. xox
I already had an account on Barbarella’s website. Can I use that account?
Yes, click on the ‘booker Account Confirmation’ button and login with the same email & password that you always used.
Who’s Coming? Just me. How do I book multiple services for myself?
1) Select up to 4 services by using the Add button or drag and dropping a service to the Your Services section. 2) Select a technician by clicking on the Staff down arrow or leave it as Anyone and we’ll pick one of our expert technicians for you. 3) Click on Find Available Dates and select a day. 4) Click on Find Available Time and you will be presented with a series of time slots for each service. Once you click on a time slot for any one of the services the system automatically locks in the adjacent time slots for any other service. Once you’re sure you’ve got the right day & first starting time then Continue to Checkout and complete the booking confirmation information.
Who’s Coming? 2/3/4 - Booking for multiple guests.

You’ll see the service fall under a Guest that is sequentially numbered. 2) Select a technician by clicking on the Staff down arrow or leave it as Anyone and we’ll pick one of our expert technicians for you. 3) Click on Find Available Dates and select a day. Remember all guests are coming on the same day. 4) Click on Find Available Time and you will be presented with a series of time slots for each guest. Once you click on a time slot for any one of the guests the system automatically locks in that time slot for each guest. Once you’re sure you’ve got the right day & starting time then Continue to Checkout and complete the booking confirmation information.
What does it mean when I see Extend Your Stay?
Extend Your stay means your logged in session has been idle for more than 30 minutes. Just enter your password, click on Extend and you are back in business!
Why is the Duration of some services longer than what is shown under a booked appointment?
Service duration may appear longer than the time block duration from which you select your appointment time. Time has been added to the service duration to ensure proper sanitization between clients during COVID-19, and does not impact the amount of time you need to be present for your appointment. Once you Confirm Booking then your actual in-salon time is presented to you. Thank you for your understanding.
